Brandon traveled and lived in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands for over seven years, which provided some of the rich experiences he relates in stories of his own. As a high school humanities teacher, Brandon tells and discusses folktales from around the world, especially Indonesia. Enthralling audiences with sound effects and expressive movements, Brandon brings drama and humor to his narratives, which often blend mystery with real events. Brandon is a five-time winner of the Bay Area Moth Story SLAM competitions, including two Grand SLAMs. In 2017, Brandon put out his first book, Live to Tell: Six Award-Winning Tales. The sequel, Live to Tell Again: Tales of Self-Discovery and Healing came out on June 18, 2019. Setting a Plot: The Impact of Geography on Culture, Myth, and Storytelling was published on August 24, 2019. And Brandon's latest book is Rangda, The Legendary Goddess of Bali.
